ANTIQUED DESIGN

The coin’s reverse portrays three butterflies gracefully pollinating grevillea foliage. Each butterfly is depicted showcasing remarkable and unique markings. As well as a ribbon scroll with the inscription ‘BUTTERFLY’, the reverse includes the coin’s weight, purity, 2025 year-date, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

This coin has been struck on an extra-deep blank to showcase its superbly detailed design in high relief. The coin has been individually ‘antiqued’ to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin in the mintage may vary.

TRANSLUCENT CASE

Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the coin is housed in a translucent case which comes in a black wooden presentation box.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint's 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970.
