This coin was designed by the Royal Canadian Mint engraver Konrad Wachelko and features a single, close-up snowflake with six arms and amazingly intricate detail.
The centre of the snowflake is studded with a black Swarovski crystal element that evokes the snowflakes basic design.
The larger snowflake is surrounded by a flurry of smaller snowflakes of varying sizes along with the engraver's initials and the words "Canada 2013".
The obverse features the well-recognized Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
